Holy Christ of Magallón olive oil
Aceites Santo Cristo de Magallón, in 2010 the D.O. of Sierra de Moncayo Oil, of which our Cooperative was one of the promoters and founders.
Since that year, the best batches have been chosen to present aromatic and tasty oils that are bottled under the Pago La Corona brand.
The activity of the production of oil of the Comarcal Santo Cristo de Magallón, groups 468 partners. The cultivation of olive groves in the reference area dates back to antiquity, with references as early as the 2nd century B.C.
The extension of the olive grove cultivation area is about 470 hectares. Empeltre and Arbequina varieties, with an average production of around 800,000 kilograms.
They are the only two varieties allowed in the Cooperative. The structure of the soils is excellent for the cultivation of olive groves, as well as the contribution of irrigation at the right times that favors optimum maturation. Harvesting takes place from the beginning of November to the end of December.
The Cooperative has a complete laboratory to control the ripening of the olives, once the different plots have been reviewed by the Cooperative’s technical team.
These facilities are complemented by a complete and approved tasting room, where organoleptic controls are carried out.
