Restaurants with EVOO menu
AOVE Territory, will be the brand that will identify restaurants that use quality oils. Thus, La Lobera de Martín has been the first establishment to adhere to this initiative, seeking to promote the benefits that its use has for health.
The signatories of Territorio AOVE will distinguish the Aragonese catering establishments that exclusively use extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) in their kitchens. The initiative was presented this Sunday at La Lobera de Martín in Zaragoza, and they hope to reach at least a dozen restaurants by the end of the year.

The Almozara agency, with the collaboration of Saborea Magallón and the La Olivera oil mill, has launched this project. Thus, its promoter, Miguel Ángel Vicente, seeks to “encourage its use both raw and in processed products, since it is a true transmitter of health.” Specifically, the varieties grown in Aragon are fundamentally arbequina oil and empeltre oil.
From this Sunday, this logo appears at the entrance of the restaurant La Lobera de Martín and will do so in all those who join the project. In addition, posters will be installed inside the establishments so that consumers know the advantages of using extra virgin olive oil.
This initiative seeks the involvement of the Aragonese hotel industry to eliminate the use of unhealthy fats. In particular, it emphasizes the great benefits of its consumption for health. In addition, Javier Castillo, Professor of Microbiology at the University of Zaragoza, highlighted its protective effect on the microbiota.

Les Garrigues recognizes restaurants that are committed to EVOO
With the Restaurant Verge Extra quality label, to those restaurants that opt for extra virgin olive oil produced in the area. In fact, there are already five establishments that have been distinguished with this recognition by the Regional Council.
To receive the distinction, the restaurants in the region have to meet a series of recognition criteria established by the regional entity. In particular, they must certify that they use a minimum of 80% extra virgin olive oil from Las Garrigues in the kitchen and 100% in the dining room. Also have a menu of oils or view their use in the required percentage in the general menu, among others.
