Amarga y Pica Olive Oil

“Amarga y Pica” olive oil is a superior category Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), a monovarietal Picual olive oil, notable for its intensity and character. It is obtained from early-harvest olives, harvested in early November, which gives it its distinctive sensory attributes.

Its name, “Amarga y Pica,” perfectly describes its main characteristics on the palate: a noticeable bitterness and a vibrant spiciness that is perceived in the throat, typical of quality EVOOs and the Picual variety, which are rich in polyphenols. On the nose, it presents an intense fruitiness with notes of fresh grass, tomato, and artichoke. It is a complex oil, smooth on the palate, with a fresh entry and a herbaceous flavor.

It comes from the Granada Mountains, at an altitude of over 1,500 meters, and has a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), which guarantees its quality and origin. It’s ideal eaten raw, on toast, in salads, and even pairs surprisingly well with red meat, Iberian ham, or smoked salmon, providing a bold, distinctive touch.
