Why is Olive Oil the Healthiest?
The monounsaturated omega-9 acid (oleic acid) helps reduce cholesterol levels and prevents the formation of blood clots. This means that oleic acid can reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. In fact, the monounsaturated fatty acid content in olive oil is 77%, while in sunflower oil, it is 16%.
It is believed that the daily allowable amount of olive oil for an adult is about 40ml, or 1.5-2 tablespoons. This is what you need to drink in the morning about 15-20 minutes before the main breakfast.
