Hacienda Valdivieso Arbequina
Arbequina olive oil is a variety of olive tree native to Palestine, brought to Spain by the Duke of Medinaceli in the 17th century. Its name comes from the castle-palace where it was located in Arbeca (Catalonia).
Hacienda Valdivieso Arbequina is an olive oil with fruity notes and a very slight spiciness and bitterness. For this reason, it can be considered harmoniously sweet, perfect for all types of palates and culinary creations. You can also appreciate notes of banana and ripe apple, fresh artichoke, nuts such as almonds, and even aromatic herbs.
This family is dedicated to growing their own Arbequina olive trees in the Guadalquivir Valley, in the town of Lora del Río.
In the kitchen
Raw, Arbequina extra virgin olive oil is exquisite on toast and salads, and in baking, it is an excellent alternative to butter, making baked goods healthier if used in muffins, cakes, biscuits, and pastries.
Health benefits
Hacienda Valdivieso Arbequina has a high percentage of oleic acid (reduces bad LDL cholesterol and increases good HDL cholesterol) and high levels of polyphenols (improves cardiovascular health).
