According to Science, Olive Oil Can Reduce Blood Sugar Levels in Just One Week
Scientific studies indicate that regular consumption of olive oil could lower blood sugar levels due to a specific compound it contains in abundance.

The mice that received multiple doses of this compound lost weight and achieved better blood sugar control “after just one week,” according to the research report. The scientists concluded that the effect of elenolic acid on blood sugar reduction could be comparable to that of injectable diabetes medications.
“The medications available for obesity are ineffective for maintaining weight loss, costly, and/or pose potential long-term safety risks. Our goal is to develop safer, more cost-effective, and practical multi-target agents capable of preventing the onset of metabolic disorders and type 2 diabetes,” commented Professor Dongmin Liu, head of the research team in the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Tech.
