At Deortegas we produce four Bio single-varieties, Arbequina, Picual, Cornicabra and Hojiblanca, with a marked personality that allow us to appreciate its great diversity of aromas and nuances. Also, a delicious Coupage “a la carte” that surprises with its balance and smoothness.
These are very aromatic juices, fruity with green apples, bananas, mangoes, or more herbaceous with green leaf, freshly cut grass, almonds, tomatoes, and artichokes. Presented in 250 and 500 ml glass format, 3 and 5l can.
Deortegas Bio EVOOs address a customer profile that values bio and artisan products. The firm is present in stores, shops and establishments of gourmet products and organic from Spain. They are also exported to other European countries (France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Finland, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Russia), as well as in Taiwan, Japan, the USA or Canada, representing 70% of production.

At Deortegas we consider that the lack of information causes the consumer to purchase poor quality oils. Hence, we spare no effort in spreading and making the world of oil and the culture of extra virgin known through different activities: tastings and healthy breakfasts, visits to the oil mill and olive groves. DeOrtegas, the mill
Founded in 2008 by Marcelo and Rafaela Ortega, a family business with a long history in organic farming. Based in Yecla, in the extreme north of the province of Murcia. Dedicated to the elaboration of superior quality organic extra virgin olive oils.
Located in the area of ”Los Pinillos” between the Buey and Serral mountain ranges, in the Murcian Altiplano region. With an altitude that ranges between 600 and 800 meters above sea level. Dry continental climate with hot summers and cold winters and little rainfall. This contributes to the good development of olive trees and the practice of organic farming.
In total, 33,000 olive trees of the Arbequina, Picual, Cornicabra and Hojiblanca varieties. Chosen for their maturation cycle so that the collections do not overlap and thus be able to collect each variety at its optimal moment of maturation. These are olive trees planted 25 years ago, traditionally cultivated and free of any chemical product.
At Deortegas we are committed to organic farming since its inception 30 years ago. Pioneers in this type of crops in the Murcia region. This implies taking care of all the productive development of your olive trees. Throughout the year we monitor their evolution, pruning, tillage or nutrient supply.
From pruning, all operations are aimed at achieving a harmonious growth of the olive tree and its fruits. Thus they will develop correctly and reach the end of their productive stage with an adequate maturation.
Cold collection and extraction
Always in flight, never from the ground, in mid-October, when the fruit is at its ideal moment (veraison). By mechanical means to avoid damaging it, it was immediately transferred to the mill to prevent the olive from piling up and heating up. Finally, a few hours after its collection, the cold extraction process is carried out.
Organic farming allows us to respect the environment and make reasonable use of water, a scarce resource in Spain. On the other hand, in olive groves exposed to significant inclement weather, pests and other diseases are scarce. Therefore, the use of pesticides and other chemical products is not necessary, which reverts both to the quality of the EVOO and to our health.
